Ways to beat Galbatorix

I just thought of another way to beat Galbatorix aside from showing him the wrongness of his actions. What if one could strip him of his ability to use magic?

Highly unlikely. You’ve got to remember that Galbatorix has control over the name of names. And even without magic, he’s still a skilled swordsman. I mean, next to a rider, he’d be absolutely powerless, but as far as magic goes, he’s simply immune unless you have Eragon’s kind of understanding of magic. Which would normally take years of training.

Well if you were a Rider and had Eragon's understand of magic you could. Which you would if you were being trained to fight Galbatorix. But you wouldn't need to use words to cast such a spell. As its a very complex spell. And he is only immune to spells that are used with words. If he was immune to all forms of magic Eragon and the Eldunari wouldn't have been able to cast the empathy spell. And without magic, you could easily kill him with a Rider's Sword.

If one can convert matter into energy with magic, and one rearrange one's molecules with magic then one could definately strip another of their ability to use magic.

It happened with Oromis. Only problem with the theory is actually getting past the wards to land a spell on them; the methodology of cutting someone off from the flow of magic was hideously complex & practically required the Ancient Language, making it utterly ineffective against Galbatorix.

For the Forsworn it did. But Eragon didn't need to use the Ancient Language to cast his empathy spell and the dragons widened it. So........... You could do the same with Galbatorix in theory. In practice, maybe not without a long time of studying it. But you could pull it off. Also the empathy spell was very complex, too complex to encapsulate with words in the Ancient Language, so Eragon was able to get past Galbatorix's wards.

Anybody got any other ideas?

With Dragons nearly anything is possible. It’s the deus ex machina. Just because you can do something with Dragons doesn’t mean it’s more viable than any other impossible thing you can do with Dragons. Barring what’s effectively an act of god, no, you couldn’t cut someone off from their magic without the ancient language; non-verbal magic that complex would be beyond any but a Dragon.

Maybe, maybe not. Its my theory and idea though. I can see that neither of us is going to convince the other. But a discussion is not about convincing others. Its about sharing ideas. But the empathy spell can't be the only way to defeat Galbatorix. Also Murtagh stripped Galbatorix of much of his wards, though Galbatorix had a few left https://www.paolini.net/2015/12/09/encyclopedia-alagaesia-galbatorix/

Anyone have any other ideas to defeat him aside from the empathy spell? I've made my suggestion.
