I'm not the authority for mineral nomenclature here :/. These are literally the things they call them.
^ Like I said, language is weird :/.
edit: what about padparadscha sapphires?
Pinkish sapphires are a thing. Semantics are weird :/. I think the closest is has been to a red is after Saphira fixed it and even then it wouldn’t be called a ruby due to cultural and historic factors.
edit: I believe it would be something like one of these
Yeah this didn’t really mention how they would govern or prevent corrruption...
What about something that’s similar to the magic Galby used when he was speaking the names of names. We could have Murtagh back(after whatever he’s been doing) and form a group (made up of the former Du Vrangr Gata). The teaches them the names of names, but casts a spell on them that would only allow them to remember the name when the situation requires. There’s a ton more that I could add to this but I’m sleepy.
We have to remember that culture and personal factors can affect how arrogant someone is. Eragon was not only quite young(and young people are usually quite idealistic), but he’s also from a culture that quite values their pride. There’s also Eragon’s personality. He’s quite adamant about his beliefs(at least at this point in time), and a bit of a do-this-first-afterthought-later type.
