A Rider's Blade is the 14th chapter of Eragon. It takes the point of view of Eragon.
Summary[]
Eragon overhears Horst telling Elain that Eragon was acting suspiciously. Eragon and Saphira decide to track the strangers that murdered Garrow. Eragon steals meat from Sloan and leather from Gedric, the tanner. He suddenly runs into Brom, who has already concluded that Eragon is a Dragon Rider. They are joined by Saphira, and Brom asks to go on the journey with them. Eragon reluctantly says yes. They reach a hiding place that Eragon found as a child. Brom tells Eragon that the strangers are called the Ra'zac. They talk and eat, and Eragon receives a Rider's blade, Zar'roc, from Brom. They then go to bed.
