Alarice

Lady Alarice was the governor of Dauth, a city in Surda. She gave the villagers of Carvahall supplies and shelter once they had entered Surda. Katrina considered going to Dauth to seek her sanctuary but Roran dissuaded her. After the Varden seized Aroughs, Nasuada asked Alarice, whose city was closest, to send a spellweaver to examine the city in search of those bound to Galbatorix in the Ancient Language, as the only spellweaver with the Varden force sent to siege, Carn, was killed in the battle.
