Angvard was the human god of Death and the dwarven personification of death. He has only been mentioned by Surdans and Saphira, so whether Angvard is only the Surdan God of Death or a god for all humans is unknown. During the battle with the painless soldiers, one of King Orrin's spellcasters (Barden) cries out "They won't die! Angvard take them, they won't die!"[1]

King Orrin describes Angvard as the gray man on his gray horse and describes his realm as that of an eternal twilight. Orrin also says, "by Angvard's crown".[2] Thus, it can be presumed that Angvard wears a crown and is viewed as a king of his realm.
