Anhûin was the former leader of the dwarven clan that was to become Dûrgrimst Az Sweldn rak Anhûin. Her clan had no mentioned name prior to her death.

Anhûin's clan was formerly one of the richest and oldest of the ancient dwarven clans before the Fall of the Dragon Riders. They lived in the Western portion of the Beor Mountains and volunteered their strongest warriors in Vrael's service. The warriors of the clan were destroyed in Urû'baen (then Illirea) by The Forsworn and Galbatorix. The only surviving clan members were Anhûin and her guards. Anhûin died of grief and her guards took the name Az Sweldn rak Anhûin (The Tears of Anhûin), doning purple vials in memory of her and dedicating the clan to mourning Anhûin's memory. From her guards the clan has been restored to a portion of its former number and strength, but continued its hated

Real-world connections[]

Anhûin's name is similar to the River Anduin in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings legendarium.
