Arya's Test is the 56th chapter of Eragon. It takes the point of view of Eragon.
Summary[]
Eragon starts to train in magic with the Twins and weapon skills with Fredric. The Twins ask Eragon to perform increasingly difficult tasks with magic. After a while, Eragon realizes the lengthy, multi-faceted test is an attempt by the twins to discover words of power he has learned from Brom. At the end, they ask Eragon to use essence summoning to summon the essence of silver. Arya arrives to stop Eragon from attempting the near-impossible task and berates the twins for their wrongdoing. Arya and Eragon proceed to duel with swords to test Eragon physically. Eragon loses the duel and feels badly. He is surprised to receive many acclamations and to find he has passed. Eragon and Saphira then talk with Arya. It is hinted Eragon has feelings for her.
