Avril Lavigne (born September 27, 1984) is an award-winning Canadian pop-punk singer. She recorded the song Keep Holding On for the Eragon soundtrack.

Avril Lavigne's first album, 2002's Let Go, was a success in both the U.S. and Great Britain. The single Complicated was nominated for six Grammy awards. Other popular singles include I'm With You, My Happy Ending, and Nobody's Home, all of which have garnered immense radio airplay.

Avril Lavigne co-wrote the hit 2004 single Breakaway, performed by Kelly Clarkson.

  • Avril Lavigne, who contributed the song Keep Holding On to the Eragon soundtrack, was the youngest female soloist to have a number-one album in the U.K. This record was broken in 2003 by R&B singer Joss Stone, who played Angela in the Eragon movie.
