Capture at Gil'ead is the 39th chapter of Eragon. It takes the point of view of Eragon.
Summary[]
This chapter recounts the journey of Eragon, Murtagh, and Saphira to Gil'ead. During the journey, Eragon and Murtagh become great friends. They shared a sort of "brotherly love," according to the chapter. At one point during the journey, Eragon and Murtagh spar, and Murtagh told Eragon that he was one of the best swordsmen he had ever met.
When they finally arrived at Gil'ead, Murtagh rode into the city, in search of Dormnad, a contact of the Varden. Eragon stayed and guarded the camp. Upon Murtagh's return, Urgals ambushed the camp and Eragon blacked out. Based on the chapter title, we are led to believe that Eragon had been captured.
