Daret is the 21st chapter of Eragon. It takes the point of view of Eragon
Summary[]
Eragon and Brom reach the village of Daret. The villagers set a trap for Eragon and Brom, trying to determine their intentions. Brom talks to their presumed leader, Trevor, and tells him that they are on their way to visit his cousin in Dras-Leona. Trevor is disheartened by the destruction of Yazuac and asks Brom to spread word of their plight. After leaving Daret, Eragon promises to fly with Saphira. That night, he dreams about Garrow, Roran, and the Ra'zac. Brom introduces Eragon to the ability to sense someone's emotions and intentions with his mind.
