Diamond Tomb is the 38th chapter of Eragon. It takes the view of Eragon.
Summary[]
This is the chapter directly following Brom's death. Deeply depressed, Eragon was unsure what to do. Without Brom's guidance, he felt lost. Murtagh suggested moving on, and heading to Gil'ead in hope of finding a contact of the Varden, named Dormnad. Saphira and Eragon discussed this suggestion, and agreed that it seemed wise. As Murtagh made his way down the cliff, Eragon and Saphira made their way up to the top of the cliff, where they had buried Brom earlier in the sandstone. Saphira, feeling magic pulse through her veins, turned the Sandstone tomb into crystal clear diamond to pay homage to Brom.
Then, they left the tomb and proceeded on to Gil'ead, in hopes of meeting Dormnad, an old friend of Brom's and member of the Varden.
