Two types of saddle were needed to ride a Dragon. One was like a horse's saddle, hard and molded to allow riding for hours with ease. The second was thin and lightly padded and was better for greater speed and flexibility.[1] Making a saddle was one of the first lessons that Dragon Riders learned.
Examples[]
Brom made a saddle for Saphira with the leather Eragon stole from Gedric, Carvahall's tanner.
Murtagh modified the saddle Galbatorix gave to Thorn. His modifications allowed for him to dismount and draw his sword faster.
