Eastcroft was a small town of about one hundred people.
Location[]
It was situated between Helgrind and Surda, east of the Jiet River and 20 miles north of Melian. In Eastcroft there was a small inn and mild fortifications. It was firmly under the grasp of the Empire, and served as a resting spot for travelers between major cities such as Urû'baen, Feinster, and Melian.
Significance[]
Eragon stopped in Eastcroft to rest during his journey from Helgrind in Brisingr. In the crowded local inn, he encountered Arya. The two stayed in Eastcroft (under the cover story that they were siblings) for a night before fleeing south towards Surda.
