Farming was the occupation of many humans and was the practice of growing plants (called crops) and possibly tending to animals. The rich soil in northern Alagaësia made it ideal for farming, but farming was a prominent industry in all human lands. Eragon found it pleasurable to nurture plants and to grow them from seeds. He was taught how to farm by Garrow.
Farming was Roran's intended occupation and he has stated that he intends to return to it upon the defeat of the Broddring Empire.
