Flight Through the Valley is the 48th chapter of Eragon. It takes the point of view of Eragon. At the end of this chapter, it is revealed Murtagh is Morzan's son.
Summary[]
Eragon, Saphira, and Murtagh are chased by the Urgals in their frantic efforts to save Arya and reach the Varden. As the Urgals draw nearer, Murtagh announces his reluctance to go to the Varden. When questioned, he reveals that he is the son of Morzan, first and last of the Forsworn.
