heyy

so i was wondering ... what do you guys think of having Peter Jackson direct Eldest? (note: no movie is planned, but if it were ...)

he did an EXCELLENT job of LOTRs and I think he has a lot of potential to bring these books to life.

the Eragon movie flunked so badly but I would love to see these books come to life.

Direct Eldest! Have him Remake Eragon too! Stardude613 21:35, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

If they do a movie for Eldest, they'd absolutely have to redo Eragon, considering how much they butchered that movie. Really though, if you want to include a good amount of the book plot, then a mini-series might be the way to go. I'm thinking animation (like Clone Wars) or CG. [User:Firesheep]

No, no, no, no... Nooooo! A mini-series isn't a bad idea (Did you get that from shurtugal.com?). But i can't be animated, it has to have real people. I'm a Star Wars fan, but the clone wars was a terrible mistake. At least they do have a better actor for Anakin. They didn't just butcher the book, they ripped it into tiny, miniscule peices. Then they burned the pieces and scattered the ashes across the known and unknown universe. Stardude613 15:35, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Are you guys serious about the mini-series thing? I think that would be a disaster! But yes, Peter Jackson would do a splendid job. The only thing is, he wasn't particularly constrained by budget with LOTR. eragon was obviously cut-rate film. even peter can't perform miracles. Maybe if they got a deal with the producers of Narnia. Although they better follow the book more. And get a better Eragon. I could even do better than that guy. And get a chick for Arya that doesn't look forty years old. And kill Durza correctly. Y'know, I'm really in the wrong forum for this. As you can see, I have strong feeling regarding this. your right about the caracters. eragon was supposed to be dark haired, and they even screwed that up. i mean seriously, there really screwed up on the movie. did they even have dwarvers? cause i didn't see any. and what was with the giant smoke-dragon thing durza summonded? they didn't even show the star sapphire, and what was with the wood cage they put murtagh in? the varden seemed mostly like a bunch of barbarins, and they even screwed up the ending, with arya leaving.
