Horses were four-legged mammals that inhabited Alagaësia. They were commonly tamed and ridden or used as beasts of burden. A horse's coat could be one of many different colors, such as white, gray, and black. Horses were used by all sides during the wars and battles of Alagaësia. If one side was victorious in a particular conflict, they would usually capture any remaining horses from the other side that they were able to.
Elf-horses were a special breed of horses bred by the elves, able to respond directly to commands in the Ancient Language.
