Inheriwiki:Blocking policy

	This page deals with a fundamental of Inheriwiki.

Blocking is how an Inheriwiki administrator prevents a user or IP address/range from editing Inheriwiki. This may be performed for various reason, and the length may vary depending on the situation.

Grounds for blocking

• Inappropriate accounts
  1. Disruptive username with offensive, confusing, random, or unreadable text or characters
  2. Inappropriate language
  3. Impersonation of other people
  4. Names used by known vandals
     • etc.
• Vandalism
  1. Disruptive edits/uploads
  2. Disruptive blanking
  3. Disruptive pagemove
  4. Blatant/malicious cross-wiki vandalism under a vandalism-only account (Wikia accounts are shared by all Wikias except Uncyclopedia)
     • etc.
• Spam
• Disruption
• Excessive reverting/edit wars
  • This does not include reversions of vandalism.
• Abusive sockpuppets
  • Multiple accounts used by the same user for abusive purposes.
• Posting of personal information
  • Phone numbers
  • Addresses
    • etc.
• Personal attacks which place users in danger
• Legal threats

Block length benchmarks

• Please note that the following are only benchmarks. The final decision for each incident is left to the discretion of the blocking administrator.

Others/Special incidents	Such incidents, depending on circumstances, reasons, and severity, are left to the discretion of the blocking administrator. Examples may include known vandals and vandalism IP ranges, confirmed by CheckUser.
