Requiem is the 7th chapter of Eldest. It takes the point of view of Eragon.
Summary[]
Eragon, the morning after he collapsed, is woken by Orik, though it takes forty-five minutes. Orik gives Eragon fitting clothes to wear and they head to Tronjheim's South Gate. Orik tells Eragon that Ajihad will be buried alongside the ancient kings of the dwarves, a true honor from Hrothgar, though it was long-debated. The column bearing Ajihad includes Nasuada, Arya, Eragon, Saphira, and the Council of Elders. They march slowly towards Ajihad's crypt and he's lowered in. When Eragon approaches he is overcome with grief and anguish. He pays tribute with words. When Nasuada approaches she holds Ajihad's hand and sings in an unknown language.
