The Skirmish outside Farthen Dûr was a small battle that happened just prior to the Rider War.
Origin[]
With the aid of Murtagh and Saphira, Eragon was able to rescue Arya from the Imperial prison at Gil'ead. An angry Durza ordered a legion of Kull warriors to re-capture the rebels.
The Battle[]
The Urgal legion followed the company to the walls of Farthen Dûr. There the company was ambushed by the Urgals, and in order to save the Dragon Rider and his friends, the dwarf Orik disobeyed orders from the Twins and ordered the Varden to attack the Kull. Thanks to his efforts, Eragon and company were saved.
