Starless Alagaësia dates to the primordial times of the Giants, prior to the creation of the Deities. It is stated in the Dwarven religion that Gûntera was created at the dawn of the stars, fully formed from a she-wolf: prior to this time the world was starless. The only other creatures known to be living in Alagaësia were the wolves, from which Gûntera was spawned.
