During the Varden's First Raid of the Imperial Army's Supply Trains, this individual, who was accompanying the supply train, confronted the Varden's own spellcaster, Carn and engaged him in a mental duel on the lead wagon. Roran Stronghammer, who was also part of the raid, witnessed part of their duel as Carn and his opponent, who was described by Roran as "a tall man in robes", their bodies rigid except for occasional twitches, the only sign of their invisible duel.
